Due to continual organisational growth, Livability Care Australia is looking for experienced Disability Support Workers in the following places:Peachester, Sunshine Coast, Queensland ****Burpengary, Queensland ****Bray Park, Queensland ****As a Disability Support Worker, you will be dedicated, values oriented, and focused on client choice and control.
In this role, you will be required to support our participants' with disabilities to achieve their goals and build skills in areas such as cooking, reading, writing, technology and exercise.
You will work to ensure that all people feel empowered and supported no matter their ability level.
You will be flexible to work across AM, PM and Night Shifts (passive/active) and be willing to travel.The Role:The day to day activities of the role include, but are not limited to:Follow person-centred support plans and positive behaviour support plans (PBSP's)Assisting with daily routines (morning and bedtime)Participating in activities of particular interest, social activities, community outingsSupporting with transport for medical appointments,



shopping and family visitDay to day personal tasks including personal careAssisting with household tasks (including cooking, cleaning, washing, meal preparation)Assisting with medication (including managing diabetes)Assisting with personal choices (including smoking)Document participants' progress through record keepingComply with LCA's procedures when reporting incidentsYour role will build meaningful, positive relationships with our clients and their families, playing a vital role in enriching our participants' lives.Our Ideal Candidate:Previous professional experience with complex participants (preferable)Demonstrated experience working with participants with mental health conditions and dementiaAn understanding of the NDIS and how to follow support plansExperienced with challenging behaviour preferredExcellent communication skills, and a compassionate approachFlexible availability & long-term commitment to Livability Care AustraliaAccess to an Employee Assistance Program (EAP)Salary packaging optionsYou will lead the same participant/s day to dayFun, supportive, team that is willing to help!
