REFOCUS is seeking a Foster Care DevelopmentCoordinator to join our Foster Care Services team and help grow a diverse,skilled, and responsive foster care workforce.
This role sits within the Foster Care Recruitmentservice and is responsible for guiding prospective foster carers from theirinitial enquiry through to approval.
You will play a key role in strengtheningfamily-based care options for children and young people by recruiting,assessing, preparing, and supporting foster carers throughout their journey.
Working collaboratively with Child Safety, communityorganisations, referral partners, and internal teams, you will help ensurechildren and young people have access to safe,



nurturing, and culturallyresponsive care environments.
About the role
As a Foster Care Development Coordinator, you will:
Promotefoster care through community engagement activities, presentations, andrecruitment eventsDevelopstrong relationships with community organisations, businesses, andreferral partnersRespondto enquiries from prospective foster carers and support them through therecruitment processConductinitial screening, household safety assessments, and comprehensive fostercarer assessmentsPrepareevidence-based assessment reports and recommendationsDeliverpre-service training, orientation programs, and foster carer educationBuildthe knowledge, confidence, and capability of prospective carersCollaboratewith Child Safety, Placement Support Services, Kinship FindingPractitioners, and internal support teamsSupportculturally safe, strengths-based, and trauma-informed practiceMaintainaccurate documentation and contribute to service reporting and qualityimprovement activities
Pay and conditions
Hourly pay rates range from:
Level 1 PPT3 $***** per hour, up to Level 3 PPT4 $***** perhour
Classification level and pay rate are assessed anddetermined based on qualifications, experience, and demonstrated capability.

Qualifications and experience
Tertiaryqualification in Social Work, Human Services, Behavioural Science,Community Services, or a related disciplineExperiencein child protection, out-of-home care, or related human servicesDemonstratedexperience in assessment, community engagement, workforce development, orsimilar fieldsExperiencedelivering presentations, education programs, or group facilitationStrongwritten communication and report-writing skills
Highly desirable:
Experiencerecruiting, assessing, or supporting foster carersKnowledgeof the Child Protection Act **** (Qld)Experienceworking with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities
