The successful applicant will be offered casual employment, averaging approximately 20 hours per week, depending on theatre activity levels.
This role is integral to supporting our daily operations, and the successful candidate must be available to work within our Monday-to-Friday day surgery unit operating hours, from 06:30am to 10:00pm.Salary range: $***** - $***** per hour plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900+ access to many staff benefits!
What you'll be doingThe Theatre Orderly is responsible for assisting with the transportation of patients throughout the hospital pre and post surgery.
Assisting nurses and doctors with manual handling of patients, setting up and cleaning of medical equipment and medical gases.
All transport will be onsite across both Townsville Mater HospitalsAttending regular staff meetings and trainingsPatient transfers and delivering excellent customer service and patient carePerform required tasks under the direction of medical and nursing staff.Clean contaminated equipment and other used items as required.Assist with basic patient care as requested under supervision of nursing staff.Transporting linen between the laundry and clinical areas.About youTo be successful in this role you will possess:A high level of understanding of infection control procedures and processesExperience working as an Orderly within a hospital setting (desirable not essential)Effective communication and ability to understand instructionsEffective organisational skills and time managementAbility to work without supervision and within a team environment.Ability to demonstrates correct techniques of patient lifting,
