The Department of Parliamentary Services (DPS) has an exciting opportunity for an ICT Training Officer (Parliamentary Service Level 6) to play a key role in enabling digital adoption and capability uplift across the Australian Parliament.
Working under limited direction, the position is responsible for designing, delivering and continuously improving contemporary ICT learning solutions that support the successful implementation and uptake of enterprise technologies, systems and services.
As part of the Information Services Division, the ICT Training Officer contributes to DPS's digital business modernisation and transformation agenda under the Australian Parliament's Digital Strategy *********.
The role operates in a complex and client-focused environment, partnering with stakeholders across the parliamentary environment to identify learning needs, develop training strategies and resources, and support effective user adoption of digital tools and business solutions.
The role is responsible for the end-to-end coordination, delivery and evaluation of ICT training products, services and initiatives.
It requires sound judgement, strong stakeholder engagement and a commitment to continuous improvement to ensure learning solutions remain relevant, accessible and aligned with organisational priorities.
We are seeking a talented learning and development qualified with demonstrated experience in analysing, designing, developing, delivering and evaluating ICT training solutions in a complex service environment.
The successful candidate will bring strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills,



sound judgement and a client-focused approach to delivering contemporary learning solutions that meet diverse user needs.
You will be comfortable working under limited direction and managing your work with a high degree of independence, while collaborating effectively with subject matter experts, project teams, service delivery staff and clients.
You will be able to translate technical and business requirements into practical, accessible and engaging learning experiences, using a range of delivery methods and digital tools.
You will also demonstrate a strong commitment to continuous improvement, with the ability to identify risks, adapt approaches, and recommend enhancements that improve learning outcomes and support successful digital adoption across the parliamentary environment.
A successful applicant may be required to periodically travel interstate for short periods of time.
• A degree or diploma from an Australian tertiary institution (or comparable overseas qualification) in Adult Learning, Instructional Design or a related discipline is desirable, but not essential
• Knowledge of, and experience working with Microsoft SharePoint, TechSmith Camtasia Studio, Adobe Photoshop, the Microsoft Power Platform (Power Automate, Power Virtual Agents) and demonstrated ability with scripting/coding languages (HTML, CSS and JavaScript) is desirable, but not essential.
• Experience in customer outreach or equivalent roles involving stakeholder engagement, communication, and relationship management is highly desirable.
Job Specific Requirements:
• The successful applicant will be required to obtain and maintain a Negative Vetting 1 (Confidential/Highly Protected/Secret) security clearance.
