Under the close guidance of experienced industry professionals, this dynamic traineeship offers an exciting opportunity to build in-demand skills in business administration, customer service and communications through a blend of formal training and hands-on learning. You will play a key role in delivering an outstanding customer experience for the Townsville community by responding to enquiries across multiple contact channels and providing clear, accurate and timely information about Council services.
In addition, you will support Council's Communications and Media team, gaining exposure to internal and external communications, community messaging and media support activities - making this a varied, fast-paced role that builds valuable, real-world skills.
This traineeship is a fantastic opportunity to build transferable business skills, develop professional confidence, and contribute to essential Council services while working towards a nationally recognised qualification.

About the Candidate
Willingness to be part of, and promote, a positive safety culture whilst adhering to all Health and Safety policies and procedures. Minimum completed of Year 10 with passes in English and Mathematics. Minimum of Queensland C class provisional drivers' licence (or ability to obtain). Sound written and verbal communication skills. Sound computer skills. Ability to work effectively and be positively involved within a team environment. Complete all training and assessment requirements of a Certificate IV in Business as per the provided training plan. This includes attending and participating in structured formal learning at the nominated Registered Training Organisation (RTO) as well as keeping an accurate and up to date training record book.
Work Environment
Salary Range: $23,920 - $49,296 per annum + super, based on schooling level completion, years out of school and age upon commencement.
