We pride ourselves on maintaining high standards of safety, efficiency, and operational excellence.Purpose of the RoleBGIS is seeking an experienced Electrical Technician to support a newly secured Victorian Government services portfolio located within a significant civic precinct in East Melbourne.
In this handsâon role, you will deliver planned and reactive electrical maintenance across essential public facilities, ensuring systems operate safely, efficiently, and reliably.Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will work collaboratively with BGIS teams, subcontractors, and key stakeholders to meet contract KPIs while maintaining strict compliance with safety and regulatory standards.This opportunity suits a qualified, safetyâfocused electrician who values teamwork, steady workmanship, and contributing to important community infrastructure.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform planned and reactive electrical maintenance including emergency lighting, switchboards,
and highâvoltage systemsComplete work orders within required service timeframesDiagnose faults and carry out repairs in line with qualifications and standardsMentor and support apprentices and assist fellow technicians as requiredOversee and coordinate subcontractors when engaged on siteParticipate in an onâcall roster for afterâhours supportMaintain compliance with WHSE, QMS, OH&S; and EMS systemsFoster respectful, professional relationships with stakeholders across the precinctEducation, Experience & Skills1â5 years' experience in an electrical maintenance environment (all levels encouraged to apply)Certificate III in ElectrotechnologyWhite Card (General Construction Induction Card)Strong faultâfinding and problemâsolving capabilityClear communication skills and customerâfocused approachExperience mentoring apprenticesExperience managing subcontractors in facilities or building environmentsExposure to commercial or government property portfoliosWhat's ProvidedPhone, uniforms and PPEPaid training including EWP, First Aid, Working at Heights and moreWorkplace FlexibilityThis position is fully siteâbased in East Melbourne, supporting a key Victorian Government precinct.
