Advanced Trainee - Musculoskeletal RehabilitationSt Vincent's Health Australia – Melbourne VICThis position is based within the Rehabilitation Service at the Fitzroy Campus of St Vincent's Hospital Melbourne, with close links to services across the Continuing Care Stream, including the Kew Campus Rehabilitation Unit and the Rehab@Home program.Work within one of Australia's leading healthcare groups, underpinned by the values of compassion, integrity, justice and excellence.The Musculoskeletal / Spinal / Amputee Rehabilitation Medicine AT is a key member of a dedicated and highly skilled rehabilitation team, providing care to a diverse inpatient cohort (approximately 12 patients).
You will be responsible for the day-to-day management of patients under the supervision of a senior Amputee and Musculoskeletal Rehabilitation Medicine Physician, gaining broad exposure to complex rehabilitation care.We are seeking enthusiastic, collaborative trainees with strong communication and clinical skills to join our Advanced Trainee (AT) program in ****.
Successful candidates will:Perform the duties of the position to a high standard under appropriate supervision.Actively support patients, families, and carers to make informed decisions about treatment and ongoing care.Communicate effectively and collaborate with patients, families, carers, general practitioners, colleagues, and broader health and social support networks.You will be joining a department that is friendly, engaged, and highly collaborative, with a shared commitment to delivering excellent patient care.Key Responsibilities:Day-to-day protected medical care of rehabilitation inpatients,



including Amputee, Spinal and Musculoskeletal patients as well as medical and surgical deconditioning.Attendance at specialist clinics on a rotational basis, including:Amputee Clinic (compulsory)General Rehabilitation ClinicIntrathecal Baclofen ServiceDaily ward management meetingsBi-weekly Consultant ward roundsWeekly case conferencesFamily meetingsSupervision and support of junior medical staffIn-service training for the rehabilitation teamUndergraduate medical teachingResearch and quality improvement activities within the serviceParticipation in weekend Rehab and GEM cover (approximately 1 in 6, Saturday and Sunday mornings)Education & TrainingYou will have access to a comprehensive education program, including:Weekly supervision sessionsWeekly RMTV training programFortnightly Departmental Education ProgramWeekly SVHM Medical Grand RoundsAccess to multiple medical and surgical forumsMentoring by a wide range of experienced Rehabilitation Medicine PhysiciansRotations commencing: February **** and August ****Term: 6-month rotationLocation: Kew CampusClassification: HM25-HM30Classifications for this position will range from HM25 - HM30 ($129,****** - $177,******) pro rata for part-time.What You will BringBachelor Medicine,
