Salary Range: LGO4 – ($86,720.
– $92,954 per
annum + superannuation) based on skills, qualifications and
experience.

About the Role
The Finance Officer will play an important role in delivering
high-quality financial and accounting support that helps Council
achieve its strategic objectives and deliver positive outcomes for
the Townsville community.
You will work collaboratively with
stakeholders across the organisation to provide financial advice,
support budgeting and accounting activities, investigate and
resolve finance-related enquiries, and contribute to accurate
financial reporting and compliance outcomes.
You will be a trusted
partner to business areas, helping to embed sound financial
practices, improve processes, and support informed decision-making
through the provision of timely and accurate financial
information.
This role is ideal for a finance professional who enjoys
building robust working relationships, solving problems, and
delivering excellent customer service.
You will be part of a

About you:
Demonstrated experience role modelling a positive safety
culture and adherence to the Health Safety Management Systems
through visible leadership and exercising due diligence and
management of compliance and legislative obligations.
Minimum of three (3) years in a Finance Officer role,
providing assistance to a multi-disciplinary team.
Qualifications commensurate with Certificate IV in Business




or progress towards a Bachelor degree in Business.
Excellent communication skills demonstrated by verbal and
written evidence.
Business partnering experience.
Excellent customer service skills.
Demonstrated ability to negotiate, influence and educate
stakeholders.
Current Queensland "C" class driver's licence.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Advanced proficiency in the use of the Microsoft suite of
products, particularly Excel.
Proficiency in system products including but not limited
to: ECM/CES/Marvel/Property and Rating, or the ability to
rapidly obtain proficiency.
National Police Check may be required dependent on Finance
Officer position.
Must be willing to undertake duties in various council work
locations throughout Townsville as directed.
