Senior Front-End Designer and Developer
12-month contract with two potential 12-month extensions Canberra-based hybrid working arrangements Must be able to obtain an NV1 security clearance
Position Overview
An opportunity is available for a Senior Front-End Designer and Developer to support the ongoing development and enhancement of high-priority government digital platforms.
Working within a dedicated technical delivery team, you will develop modern, user-focused interfaces and contribute to the delivery of a recent external-facing portal.
The role combines hands-on development, UI/UX design and system integration to improve the experience of internal and external stakeholders.
Key Duties
Design, develop, maintain and enhance front-end system components and interfaces.Support the delivery of a new external-facing digital portal.Develop user-facing components in line with business requirements and project priorities.Improve existing application screens, usability and legacy designs.Undertake software design, coding, peer reviews and testing.Deliver interface upgrades, new features and system capabilities.Integrate front-end applications with APIs and third-party software products.Contribute to business-as-usual maintenance and broader digital improvement projects.Work collaboratively within Agile or waterfall ICT project teams.
Skills And Experience Required




Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or demonstrated experience in a related ICT field.Solid front-end development experience using React, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML5 and CSS.Demonstrated knowledge of modern UI/UX design principles and their practical implementation.Experience supporting or developing user-facing components within complex application environments.Experience working with Java and JEE frameworks, Kubernetes, Oracle, Unix and Windows environments.Strong understanding of API interactions and system integration.Experience integrating commercial or government off-the-shelf software products.Experience working within or leading ICT teams using Agile or waterfall delivery methodologies.Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.Ability to obtain and maintain an NV1 security clearance.
