About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Mining Engineer to join our team and play a key role in the development and delivery of the Matsu Greenfield Project.
The project has an initial mine life of 3.5 years, with strong potential for expansion into Matsu North as the next stage of development.
Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will be responsible for mine planning, production optimisation and supporting operational performance while working closely with site operations, geology, projects and shipping teams.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and maintain short, medium and long-term mine plans.
Prepare drill and blast designs to support production requirements.
Optimise pit designs, haul routes and mining sequences.
Monitor mining performance and recommend improvements to productivity and costs.
Work closely with Operations to ensure mine plans are practical and achievable.
Liaise with Geology to align mine plans with ore quality and grade control.
Support shipping and production planning to meet customer and vessel requirements.
Assist with project planning, mine development and future expansion opportunities.




Produce regular production forecasts, schedules and reports.
Ensure all planning activities comply with safety, environmental and statutory requirements.
Identify opportunities for continuous improvement across the mining operation.
Skills & Experience
Degree in Mining Engineering or equivalent.
Experience in open pit mine planning.
Proficient in Surpac or equivalent mine planning software (Vulcan, Deswik, MineSched or similar).
Strong understanding of drill and blast design.
Experience working closely with mining operations and multidisciplinary teams.
Strong communication, planning, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently while supporting a fast-paced operation.
