We are seeking a commercially minded Commercial Procurement & Contracts Manager who is ready to make a visible impact in a growing biotech environment.
This role will help strengthen how PYC approaches strategic vendor engagement, procurement governance and commercial contracting across our major external spend categories.
Reporting to the CFO, this newly created role will work closely with internal teams and external partners to bring structure, visibility and commercial discipline to how we source, negotiate and manage key supplier relationships and contracts.
As our clinical and operational programs continue to scale, you will help ensure PYC is making informed commercial decisions, negotiating stronger terms where it matters, and maintaining clear, accessible contract information.
About the role
In this role, you will focus on:
Leading structured sourcing and vendor evaluation processes for major engagements, including CROs, clinical vendors and strategic development partners.
Negotiating stronger commercial outcomes with key vendors, including pricing, contract terms, payment structures, scope, change controls and risk allocation.
Supporting practical procurement governance by helping define what should be negotiated, what can be accepted, and where risks should be challenged or escalated.
Maintaining a practical contract database so key obligations, milestones, renewal dates and payment commitments are clear, current and easy to manage.




Monitoring committed spend, validating milestone payments and identifying commercial, contractual or financial risks early.
This is a full-time position, based in Nedlands.
Part-time will be considered, for the right candidate.
About you
You will bring strong commercial judgement, confidence in negotiation, attention to detail and the ability to build trusted relationships with internal stakeholders and external vendors.
Experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, commercial contracting or supplier management within biotechnology, pharmaceutical, CRO, clinical research or life sciences environments would be highly regarded.
You will ideally have demonstrated experience in the following:
Experience leading procurement processes, vendor evaluation, commercial negotiations and contract execution.
Strong commercial acumen, including the ability to assess what should be negotiated, what can be accepted and where risk should be challenged.
Confidence working with contract values, committed spend, invoices, payment terms, milestones and supplier performance data.
Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to influence across technical, commercial and external partner groups.
Experience improving procurement governance, contract management or commercial reporting processes in a practical, fit-for-purpose way.
