This role plays a vital part in ensuring Defence personnel are correctly fitted, presented, and supported with high quality uniform and alteration services.

What You'll Be Doing
As a Seamsperson, you'll work as part of a dedicated stores and customer service team, delivering alteration and fitting services, including:
Measuring and fitting customers for Defence clothing itemsSewing and attaching rank, badges, insignia and medals in line with Defence standardsCompleting basic alterations such as hemming, ironing and garment adjustmentsMaintaining accurate records for seamsperson services and ordersEnsuring the security and care of medals and issued itemsSupporting customer service activities including issuing, accepting and inspecting returned itemsUsing Defence systems and computer terminals for transactions and record keepingAssisting with stock handling, manual handling, housekeeping and general store dutiesComplying with all workplace health & safety, security, and environmental requirements

What You'll Bring
Experience in sewing‐based roles, including tailoring or garment alterations, will be highly regardedStrong attention to detail and commitment to high quality workmanshipCustomer focused approach with clear communication skillsAbility to work effectively in a team environmentSound time management and organisation skillsBasic computer and data entry capabilityA current driver's licence and reliable transportAbility to meet Defence security requirementsAustralian Citizenship is required to obtain the necessary Defence security clearance.
