About the Program
The Calvary OnePlus Graduate Nurse Transition Program (GNTP) is a national program designed to support graduates in building:
Clinical knowledge
Practical skills
Professional behaviours for lifelong learning
Through structured support and reflection, the program enables graduates to make evidence-based decisions and develop confidence in practice.
This 12-month program provides experience across multiple clinical settings in a supportive environment.
What the Program Offers
Structured transition program with 2 × 6-month rotations including:
Medical
Surgical
Perioperative
Mental Health
0.8 FTE (32 hours/week minimum)
Dedicated New Graduate Coordinator
Regular clinical supervision
Opportunity to nominate preferred rotations
Flexible rostering
3 tailored study days
Specialty-specific competency books
Multi-day orientation program
Allocated preceptors
Supernumerary shifts at the start of each rotation
No on-call requirements during the graduate year

Mandatory Requirements
Registration as an Enrolled Nurse with AHPRA
Valid work rights in Australia
Must be a new graduate:
No previous GNTP participation
Less than 3 months employment as an enrolled nurse
Availability to work minimum 32 hours/week
Desirable Attributes
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Good organisational abilities
Ability to work both independently and within a multidisciplinary team
Understanding and application of the Nursing Process
Commitment to ongoing professional development

ANSAT reports with Clinical Facilitator feedback
If unavailable, provide two recent clinical placement assessments

Additional Requirements

Must hold or obtain AHPRA registration before program commencement
Must have completed a Bachelor of Nursing within 12 months of start date
Must be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or hold full work rights
