About the Role
We are seeking a commercially focused and dynamic Associate Director to lead business growth and technical excellence within our Victorian team.
Reporting to the Regional Structures Director – Victoria, you will drive new business opportunities, strengthen client relationships, and expand Meinhardt's market presence.
This leadership role combines business development, people leadership, and project oversight.
You will mentor and grow a high-performing team, support strategic recruitment, and work closely with Project Directors to ensure exceptional project delivery and commercial success.

Key Responsibilities
Drive business growth by identifying, securing, and converting new client opportunities.
Build and maintain strong client relationships to generate repeat business and enhance Meinhardt's market presence.
Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team, fostering a culture of collaboration, technical excellence, and continuous improvement.
Recruit, develop, and retain a balanced team of senior, mid-level, and junior professionals.
Oversee the successful delivery of projects, ensuring quality, profitability, and client satisfaction.
Prepare and present compelling proposals, negotiate fees, and contribute to winning strategic projects.
Monitor project financial performance, including budgets, profitability, invoicing, cash flow, and resource utilisation.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver cutting-edge engineering solutions for clients.
Represent Meinhardt at industry events, networking functions, and client meetings to strengthen market presence.
Contribute to the strategic direction and growth of the Victorian business through leadership, innovation, and commercial excellence.
Skills & Experience




Degree qualified in Engineering or a related discipline, with extensive experience in engineering consulting.
Proven track record in business development, winning work, and building long-term client relationships.
Demonstrated leadership experience with the ability to build, mentor, and develop high-performing teams.
Strong commercial acumen with experience managing project profitability, budgets, and financial performance.
Extensive experience delivering complex engineering projects with a focus on quality, innovation, and client satisfaction.
Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
Strong understanding of the Victorian engineering and construction market.
Current driver's licence.
Chartered status, professional registration, or eligibility for membership with a recognised engineering body (desirable or required where applicable).
