ADD VALUE - THE ROLE
The Finance Business Partner plays a pivotal role in supporting Council's leaders to achieve strategic, operational and financial objectives.
Through strong business partnering, financial analysis and performance reporting, the position provides trusted advice that strengthens decision-making, improves accountability and promotes long-term financial sustainability across the organisation.
Working closely with managers and budget owners, the Finance Business Partner develops a deep understanding of operational drivers and challenges, translating financial information into meaningful insights and practical solutions.
The role acts as a critical link between Finance and operational teams,



ensuring resources are effectively allocated and financial outcomes align with Council's strategic priorities.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinating and supporting Council's annual budget, forecasting and Quarterly Budget Review processes.
Providing high-quality financial and performance reporting, analysis and insights to support informed decision-making.
Building robust, collaborative relationships with stakeholders across the organisation and acting as a trusted financial advisor.
Undertaking financial modelling, scenario analysis, service costing and resource planning activities.
Preparing and evaluating business cases, investment proposals and financial assessments.
Monitoring capital program performance and providing financial support for strategic planning and service delivery decisions.
Supporting organisational performance reporting and continuous improvement initiatives.
Enhancing financial capability across Council through coaching, guidance and proactive support to managers and budget owners.
Qualifications
Success in this role requires a tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, Business or a related discipline, together with demonstrated experience in budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, asset accounting and stakeholder engagement.
The ideal candidate will be commercially astute, highly analytical and able to influence outcomes through strong relationships,



sound judgement and a customer-focused approach.
Working Conditions
This position is offered on a Permanent, Full-time basis working 35 hours per week.
Remuneration package for this position is based on Grade 13 of Council's Salary System Protocol which equates to a base salary of $107,704 - $121,152 per annum plus superannuation.
