About the role
You will be assisting our clients on outings with both one-on-one support and at social groups.
Each day will be a little different, we aim to provide fun – not only for our clients but for you too!
You might find yourself attending trips to nearby attractions, assisting with an arts and craft class or attending lunches and activities at a respite centre.
What will this look like on a day-to-day basis?
You will be:
Driving clients to and from event locations whilst always maintaining exceptional customer service
Providing direct personal care to the client, including assisting clients with their mobility, assisting clients in and out of a vehicle, assistance with meals or toileting, or other identified needs
Assisting clients socially on a one-on-one basis including sitting and conversing with clients
Supporting coordination of events and ensuring that activities run as planned
Liaising with event coordinators and office personnel as required
Recognising, monitoring and reporting on client's conditions and needs
Assisting with administrative tasks and other program support as required
Other things you might like to know
You may be required to use your private vehicle for work purposes, with kilometre-reimbursement offered
Current Traffic History report will be required
Paid compliance checks offered including NDIS Worker Screening
What skills and experience do you need to be a Lifestyle Assistant?
Minimum Certificate III qualification i.e., Individual Support, Aged Care, Community Services
Current open Driver's License (Light Rigid is desirable, but not essential)
Genuine empathy with elderly clients and a passion to work within the community service industry
The commitment to represent Comlink Australia with pride and help make lives better
Understanding of specialised service delivery within diverse groups, specifically Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander, CALD, Veterans, Disability, Mental Health, LGBTI+ and Homelessness
