THE OPPORTUNITY

The Eligibility Specialist plays a critical role in the early assessment of eligibility and liability for psychological injury claims.
Operating within the National Self Insurance psychological claims framework, you will work closely with internal stakeholders across EML and self-insured clients, playing a key role in supporting the implementation and adoption of legislative reforms.
Working closely with Case Managers, Team Leaders, Managers, Technical Specialists, Mental Health Specialists and the Performance and Legal teams, the role provides guidance, coaching and decision support to uplift capability, support the implementation and adoption of legislative reforms, and ensure evidence-based decisions on complex claims.
This is apermanent, full-timeposition based inSydneyorParramatta, with work-from-home flexibility (up to 3 days per week).
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
Build specialised capability in early psychological injury claim assessment.
Work closely with Case Managers to uplift their skills and confidence in applying new legislative requirements - particularly in relation to liability decision-making.
You will play a critical and active role in conducting early triage and initial reviews of psychological injury claims,
leading and endorsing liability decision-making within a shortened liability determination period.
Set and guide investigation strategies, including factual, medical and workplace evidence.
You may also work closely and engage with, relevant self-insured clients to support shared understanding and interpretation of legislative requirements.
ABOUT YOU
To apply for this role, you will have solid experience within Workers Compensation and may have been a Leader, Case Manager or Senior Case Manager previously.
Advanced knowledge of workers' compensation, injury management, and claims processes is a must.
Excellent stakeholder management, including liaising with injured workers, employers, medical professionals, and insurers.
Confidence in providing guidance, coaching, and technical support to others.
