Seeking Qualified Maintenance Fitter in Truganina!
Located in Truganina VIC (Western Suburbs)
Day shift Monday - Friday 6:30am - 2:36pm
Pay rate of $*****ph (including casual loading)
Programmed are currently seeking a qualified and experienced Maintenance Fitter to join a well-established food manufacturing site based in Truganina.
This is a long-term day shift opportunity working within a fast-paced, automated FMCG production setting.
This role will see you working as part of a skilled engineering team, responsible for maintaining and improving the performance of automated production lines.
You will play a key role in minimizing downtime through effective fault finding, troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance.
Key Responsibilities
Attend to breakdowns on automated production lines and restore equipment to optimal operation
Conduct preventative maintenance (PM), inspections, and servicing of mechanical equipment
Diagnose faults, identify root causes, and carry out timely repairs
Perform mechanical repairs and component replacement (bearings, gearboxes, valves, etc.)
Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues to minimise production downtime
Work collaboratively with production and engineering teams to resolve technical issues
Interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals for accurate maintenance work
Use workshop tools and equipment, including TIG/MIG welding, grinders, and drills
Maintain accurate maintenance records, breakdown reports, and documentation
Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance reliability and efficiency




Ensure compliance with all safety, food hygiene, and quality standards (HACCP / GMP)
Skills & Experience
Proven experience as a Maintenance Fitter within an FMCG or food manufacturing environment
Strong mechanical and fault-finding skills on automated equipment and conveyor systems
Ability to troubleshoot and resolve breakdowns efficiently under pressure
Experience working independently and managing workload effectively
Strong communication skills with the ability to liaise with production teams
Experience with CMMS systems (e.g. SAP, Mex)
Exposure to Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement practices
Qualifications
Disconnect/Reconnect (D Licence) - highly regarded but not essential
