Davies Safety Consulting is a Queensland-owned and operated Workplace Health, Safety and Environmental consultancy that assists businesses in meeting and maintaining compliance with Australian Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) regulations.
With over 20 years of industry experience and up-to-date knowledge of WHSEQ systems and legislation, the company works with various types of businesses including local retail operations such as tyre and pool shops, as well as residential, civil and commercial construction projects.

About the role:
Due to continued business expansion and the increasing demand for our services across the construction and civil sectors, Davies Safety Consulting requires the appointment of a full-time Occupational Health and Safety Adviser.
The position has become essential to support our growing client base, ensure ongoing compliance with WHS legislation, and maintain the high standard of safety services we provide to our clients.
The Occupational Health and Safety Adviser will support project teams by developing and implementing workplace health and safety systems, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, and assisting with incident management and injury rehabilitation processes.
Daily duties of our Occupational Health and Safety Adviser include:
Reviewing safe work method statements
identifying hazards, and assessing and controlling risks in the workplace
developing, implementing and monitoring programs minimising workplace and environmental pollution involving chemical and physical hazards
Creating daily content for morning pre-start meetings
Onboarding and inspecting mobile plant arriving onsite
promoting ergonomic principles within the workplace such as matching furniture, equipment and work activities to the needs of employees
inspecting and auditing workplaces, processes, plant, and chemical and physical hazardsfor legislative compliance
Complete weekly Health and Safety Inspections
Requirements:
A Bachelor degree or higher qualification in a related field plus at least one year post-qualification experience
Certificate IV in Workplace Health and Safety
First Aid and CPR certification
General Construction Induction (White Card)
Experience using Microsoft Word and Excel
Experience working within civil construction projects including roads, bridges and multi-residential developments
Strong communication and organisational skills
Ability to work autonomously and support multiple construction sites
Desirable qualifications:
Experience with Procore, Hammertech, or Sign-on-Site
Experience with ISO certification systems
Commercial drone pilot certificate
