The APS 6 Senior Policy Officer in the Regulatory Framework Branch will work under limited direction to identify, research and support the execution of complex strategic policies that will enhance the regulatory functions of the Australian Naval Nuclear Power Safety Regulator (ANNPSR).
Primary responsibilities of the Senior Policy Officer role include:
Identification of policy issues and completion of broad ranging research and analysis activities
Drafting of strategic policy products including briefing material, internal agency presentations, and other artefacts
Working with multidisciplinary teams across the agency and within the Regulatory Framework Branch
Measuring and monitoring of strategic policy effectiveness to identify areas of improvement
Providing policy advice to support senior leadership and the development of future regulations
Supporting the development and implementation of processes, procedures and tools that support the delivery of high quality policy advice.
About our Team
The Senior Policy Officer role resides in the Strategic Policy Directorate of the Regulatory Framework Branch and will report to the Assistant Director Strategic Policy.
This role forms part of a small, multidisciplinary team responsible for the identification of policy problems and the development and execution of sound, evidence-based solutions.
Our team works collaboratively and prioritises a culture of continuous learning and development, meaningful engagement and curiosity to drive policy outcomes.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to utilise their policy experience to explore a wide range of topics related to the regulation of Naval Nuclear Power activities and provide input to the maturation of the ANNPSR strategic policy function.

Eligibility
Security Clearance: Applicants must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance at "Negative Vetting Level 2".
