Reporting to the Melbourne Service Manager, this office-based role sits at the centre of our operation - working daily with suppliers, our factory, project managers and glazing supervisors to keep materials moving.
Speed of service is the cornerstone of the Express Glass offering, and this role is critical to delivering it.
The successful candidate will be highly organised, an effective communicator, and confident managing a high-volume workload.

Role
We are seeking a proactive Purchasing Officer to manage end-to-end procurement for our Melbourne branch.

Key Responsibilities
Source and purchase glass and allied products at competitive rates, within price, quality and service guidelines
Manage vendor relationships and performance, including lead times, delays and follow-up of incorrect orders
Monitor and maintain stock levels across the branch and receive and check incoming materials for dispatch
Manage the purchasing inbox, approve vendor invoices, and complete end-of-month checks and stock takes
Keep the service team informed of supplier lead times and expected delivery dates
Manage counter sales and customer transactions
Support fleet management and contribute to a strong safety culture in the factory




Record and update all purchasing data in Salesforce accurately
Skills and Experience
Prior purchasing, procurement or glazing industry experience
Strong ability to prioritise and manage a high-volume workload with accuracy
A relationship builder - able to communicate clearly with suppliers, tradespeople and office staff alike
Logical, solution-focused problem solving skills - you find answers without being prompted
Proven time management, organisational and follow-through abilities
Comfortable with computers and common software including MS Office
Salesforce experience is highly desirable but not essential
