Suiting Alterations Specialist and Sewing Machinist

YSG Tailors is seeking a skilled Tailor or Sewing Machinist to join our experienced tailoring team on a full-time basis at our Nunawading workshop.
This is a outstanding opportunity to work with a Melbourne menswear brand known for premium made-to-measure suiting, exceptional fit and high-quality craftsmanship.
At YSG Tailors, we believe the final fit is what brings the entire client experience together and our tailoring team plays a key role in delivering the precision, polish and confidence our clients know us for.
The role focuses primarily on alterations and finishing for men's made-to-measure suits, working alongside a passionate and supportive tailoring team who take pride in detail, quality and beautifully finished garments.

Please note: Applicants must be based in Melbourne and have full working rights before applying.
Candidates must hold a valid work visa or equivalent work authorisation to be eligible for this position.
Key Responsibilities
Perform alterations on men's suits, trousers, jackets and shirts
Follow detailed work orders to complete alterations accurately
Operate sewing machinery, including plain sewing machines, hemmers and buttonhole machines
Press and finish garments to a high standard




Assist with garment pinning and alteration preparation when required
Maintain sewing equipment and machines
Work efficiently to meet alteration deadlines
Maintain a clean and organised workspace
Skills & Experience
Minimum 2 years' experience in sewing, tailoring or garment alterations
Experience working with men's suiting or tailored garments
Solid attention to detail and pride in quality workmanship
Experience operating industrial sewing machines
Ability to follow alteration instructions and work orders
Reliable, organised and able to work within production timeframes
Basic computer skills
Pay above industry standards
