We are seeking a Cook to join the culinary team with Polish specific quizine at Polish Retirement Home on a casual basis. This is a valued position within our organisation, where you will play an essential role in providing nourishing, high-quality meals to our residents. Based in Bayswater, VIC ****, you will contribute to the health, wellbeing and satisfaction of our community through thoughtful food preparation and a commitment to excellence in the kitchen.
Key responsibilities
Prepare and cook meals according to established recipes, menus and dietary requirements
Ensure all food is prepared to the highest standards of quality, hygiene and presentation
Maintain a clean and organised kitchen environment in compliance with health and safety regulations
Store food items appropriately and monitor stock levels to prevent waste
Accommodate special dietary needs, cultural preferences and nutritional requirements of residents
Follow food safety and sanitation protocols at all times
Work collaboratively with other kitchen staff to ensure timely meal service
Report any equipment faults or maintenance issues promptly
What we're looking for
Proven experience as a Cook or in a similar culinary role, ideally within a hospitality, aged care or institutional setting
Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques and food safety practices
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen workplace
Excellent organisational and time management skills




A genuine passion for preparing nutritious and appetising meals
Flexibility and willingness to work casual hours as required
Effective communication and teamwork abilities
Understanding of dietary requirements and cultural considerations in meal preparation is highly valued
Current food handling certificate or equivalent qualification is preferred
