About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Formwork Carpenter to join our busy precast production team.
This is a hands-on role responsible for constructing and setting up formwork for a wide range of precast elements including pits, panels, beams and custom structures.
The role involves both traditional timber formwork and modular/proprietary systems such as Acrow, Peri and Doka.
Key Responsibilities:
Interpret and work from precast shop drawings, including detailed set-outs
Construct, assemble and strip formwork using timber, plywood, steel and proprietary systems
Set up moulds for a variety of precast elements (pits, panels, beams, columns)
Install cast-in items including chamfers, rebates, blockouts, voids and ferrules
Ensure accuracy in measurements, tolerances and surface finishes
Coordinate with reinforcement and concrete teams to achieve high-quality pours
Prepare moulds (cleaning, sealing, application of release agents)
Maintain a safe, clean and organised work environment
Contribute to team productivity and daily production targets
About You:
Proven experience as a Formwork Carpenter, ideally within precast or structural concrete
Strong ability to read and interpret detailed shop drawings
Solid understanding of precast production processes and sequencing
Experience with cast-in components (e.g. ferrules, anchors, plates, starter bars)
High attention to detail and ability to work within tight tolerances
Strong problem-solving skills, particularly with custom or complex moulds
Competent with power tools (saws, drills, grinders, nail guns)
Safety-focused with a good understanding of SWMS and OH&S; requirements
Reliable, punctual and a robust team player
Highly regarded:
Experience with overhead cranes and lifting equipment
Dogging or rigging ticket
Forklift licence (LF)
Experience with QA processes and documentation
Qualifications:
Certificate III in Carpentry, Joinery or Formwork/Falsework (preferred)
White Card (mandatory)
