About the role:




The SUPPS Clinician provides support to women experiencing substance use challenges from the antenatal period through to six months post-birth, with service provision extended up to two years in exceptional circumstances.
The aim of SUPPS is to improve health and social outcomes for pregnant women and their families by offering care navigation, support, and assistance in engaging with appropriate services.
The service specifically focuses on women with moderate to severe substance use issues, including polysubstance use.
What you'll be doing:
Using cutting-edge, evidence-based skills and interventions, you will professionally support individuals seeking assistance with alcohol and drug use.
You will take a trauma-informed approach and provide respectful, person-centred care, tailored to each individual's needs.
Central to your role will be employing an individualised, holistic approach to care, incorporating comprehensive care planning to address the diverse physical, emotional, and social aspects of each person's journey.
The Substance Use in Pregnancy and Parenting Service (SUPPS) Clinician is a district-wide position working alongside the SUPPS Clinical Nurse/Midwife Consultant, Perinatal Infant Mental Health Clinician and SAFE START Coordinator with clinical support and leadership provided by the Perinatal Infant Mental Health and SUPPS District Clinical Leader.
Based in Wagga Wagga,



the position provides a hybrid approach to care which includes both face-to-face (including home visiting) and telehealth contact to clients and families residing across the Murrumbidgee region, including NSW residents within the Albury Wodonga Health catchment.
Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:
Australian recognised tertiary qualifications, Occupational Therapist Level 3 / Psychologist (with AHPRA registration) / Counsellor Level 3 (PACFA membership or evidence of eligibility required) / Social Worker Level 3 (AASW membership or evidence of eligibility) / Clinical Nurse Specialist Grade 2 (AHPRA with minimum three years post-registration experience in AOD and a relevant post-graduate qualification)
Current NSW drivers' licence and ability to travel as required
