Recruitment Consultant - Senior Accounting & Finance
The Company
Our client is a well-established, multi-entity Australian business operating across transport, logistics and supply chain. With a strong shared services function and a team-oriented finance team, they are seeking an experienced credit and AR professional to manage a national debtor ledger and support healthy cash flow across the group.
The Role
Reporting to the Group Shared Services Manager, this is a critical role responsible for managing the AR function across multiple entities - driving proactive collections, maintaining healthy cash flow and delivering a high standard of customer relationships.
Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
Proactively manage a national debtor ledger across multiple entities; contact customers regarding overdue accounts via phone and email
Investigate and resolve outstanding account queries; negotiate payment arrangements within approved authority limits
Process and allocate debtor receipts accurately; reconcile customer accounts and investigate unidentified or unallocated cash
Process credit applications and complete all required credit checks; maintain and update customer master data
Monitor customer credit exposure; implement stop credit procedures and prepare debt collection referral recommendations as required
Prepare weekly debtor reports and aged debt analysis; coordinate and participate in weekly debtor review meetings
Respond to customer enquiries relating to invoices, statements and account balances; resolve disputes with Operations and Sales
Distribute monthly statements; assist with month-end debtor reconciliations and support EOM reporting requirements
The Person
Considerable experience in Accounts Receivable, Credit Control or Collections
Experience managing a large, high-volume national debtor ledger across multiple entities
Strong understanding of credit management, collection principles and credit law
Experience using ERP systems such as CargoWise or SAP; intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel
Experience within transport, logistics or supply chain advantageous; exposure to credit insurers and debt collection agencies a plus
Excellent negotiation, communication and problem-solving skills; high level of customer service and relationship management
Strong organisational and time management skills; high attention to detail and ability to prioritise competing deadlines
