We're looking for enthusiastic, customer-focused individuals to join our team as Parking Officers — no prior experience necessary.
This role starts as a 3-month contract with a strong pathway to ongoing employment for the right candidate.
About the Role
As a Parking Officer, you'll be a visible, approachable presence in the community, helping ensure fair and safe access to parking for residents, businesses, and visitors.
You'll patrol allocated areas on foot, using handheld devices to issue infringement notices, while educating the community on parking regulations.
You'll be fully supported and trained — this is a great entry point into a career in local government, compliance, or law enforcement-adjacent work.
What You'll Do
Patrol allocated zones on foot, monitoring and enforcing parking regulations
Issue infringement, warning, and statutory notices accurately and fairly
Operate handheld devices and body-worn cameras in line with standard procedures
Provide friendly, helpful information and education to members of the public
Handle disputes or complaints calmly and professionally
Supervise school crossings as required




Assist with abandoned vehicle removals and support Local Laws/Animal Management colleagues from time to time
Prepare basic documentation and, occasionally, give evidence in court proceedings
What We're Looking For
Robust customer service and communication skills
Experience in retail/customer facing roles preferred
Physically fit and comfortable walking for extended periods, in all weather conditions
Confident, level-headed approach to conflict resolution
Good time management and ability to plan your own workload
Comfortable using handheld computers/devices
A valid driver's licence
Reliability, punctuality, and a positive, qualified attitude
No previous experience required — full training provided
