The Student Services Officer is responsible for delivering exceptional frontline support and administrative services that contribute to an outstanding student experience across NextEd's Higher Education brands, Academy of Interactive Technology (AIT) and Greenwich Higher Ed.
As a key member of the Student Services team, the role supports students throughout their learning journey by providing timely, accurate and empathetic advice, coordinating student administration processes, and fostering a welcoming and inclusive campus environment.
Working collaboratively with Admissions, Academic, Library and other support teams, the Student Services Officer ensures students receive high-quality service from enrolment through to graduation.
The role also contributes to continuous improvement initiatives, embraces emerging technologies and actively supports the implementation of new systems and processes that enhance the student experience.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Student Services & Administration
You will provide frontline support to students across multiple communication channels, responding to enquiries with accuracy, professionalism and care.
You will manage a range of student administration processes, maintain accurate and confidential student records, and use student management systems to support each stage of the student lifecycle.
Working closely with academic and professional staff, you will help resolve routine enquiries, elevate complex matters where required, and contribute to reporting, quality assurance and compliance activities.
Student Experience
You will help create a welcoming, inclusive and service-focused campus environment for students,
staff and visitors.
The role supports student wellbeing by responding to concerns with empathy, professionalism and cultural awareness, while referring students to appropriate services when needed.
You will also assist with and present at Orientation, Open Days, Graduation and other engagement activities, support initiatives that improve student satisfaction and retention, and help manage reception, visitor enquiries, campus operations and facilities requests.
You will work collaboratively with Admissions, Academic, Library, Marketing and other teams to deliver a seamless and positive student experience.
The role contributes to continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance student services, systems and administrative processes, while embracing new technologies and supporting key institutional initiatives, including student management systems and digital service delivery.
You will also maintain current knowledge of organisational policies, procedures and regulatory requirements to ensure services are delivered accurately and consistently.
EDUCATION AND/OR WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Experience in customer service, student services or administration, ideally within higher education or international education.
Excellent written,
verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
Strong organisational skills with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities.
Confidence using digital systems and technology, with a willingness to learn new platforms and contribute to process improvements.
Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply policies, procedures and regulations.
A collaborative approach and the ability to build positive working relationships with diverse stakeholders.
