This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Veterinary Nurse who is passionate about surgical patient care.
You'll work alongside specialist surgeons, anaesthetists, residents and nurses, delivering exceptional nursing care to a diverse and challenging caseload including orthopaedic, soft tissue, neurological and cardiothoracic patients.
No two days are the same, with exposure to some of the most advanced surgical procedures performed in veterinary medicine.

Responsibilities and Duties
Provide exceptional nursing care for surgical inpatients before and after procedures
Perform patient admissions, assessments and preparation for surgery
Monitor and manage post-operative patients, ensuring optimal recovery and comfort
Administer medications, fluid therapy and prescribed treatments
Recognise and respond promptly to changes in patient condition
Deliver comprehensive pain assessment and management
Maintain accurate medical records and treatment documentation
Assist with wound management, bandage care and post-operative nursing interventions
Collaborate closely with surgeons, anaesthesia nurses, ECC and inpatient teams to ensure continuity of patient care
Maintain high standards of infection control and patient safety
About You
Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing
Previous experience in a surgical, hospital or emergency nursing environment
Robust patient assessment and monitoring skills
Excellent organisational and time management abilities
Calm, adaptable and confident in a fast-paced hospital environment
A collaborative team player with excellent communication skills
Passionate about delivering exceptional patient care
Eager to continue learning and developing within specialist practice
Desirable
Experience within a specialist referral or emergency hospital
Interest in developing advanced surgical nursing skills
Experience caring for high-dependency or critical surgical patients
