About your new role
Neami's Youth Outreach Recovery Support Service (YORS) and Youth Residential Recovery Service (YRRS) provide flexible, relational psychosocial support for young people aged ***** who are experiencing mental ill-health and other complex challenges.
Grounded in developmentally informed, trauma-aware, and collaborative relational practice, the services focus on strengthening wellbeing, confidence and a young person's sense of safety, possibility, and connection.
YORS and YRRS also assist young people to navigate education, training, employment, daily living skills and participation in their community.
Staff collaborate closely with young people, their families and supporters, and partner agencies to provide coordinated, inclusive, and developmentally appropriate support that centres young people's voice, choice and autonomy.

About your recent role

Support is offered through individual engagement, shared activities and relational group work that foster belonging and opportunities for growth.
Each young person's goals, identity and circumstances are recognised as unique.
Workers tailor support through flexibility, creativity, and curiosity, supporting young people explore what matters to them and move towards roles, routines and relationships that feel meaningful.
YORS and YRRS also assist young people to navigate education, training, employment, daily living skills and participation in their community.
Staff collaborate closely with young people, their families and supporters, and partner agencies to provide coordinated, inclusive, and developmentally appropriate support that centres young people's voice, choice and autonomy.
Youth Mental Health Wellbeing Worker (YMHWW) Core duties
Provide direct psychosocial support to young people experiencing mental health concerns and complex issues within a therapeutic environment
Promote individual goals, strengths, choice and empowerment




Engage consumers and develop trusting and professional relationships
Work closely with clinical case managers and community partners to deliver the best possible comprehensive service to consumers
Follow all WH&S; procedures to ensure safe work practices especially in the area of safety in outreach work
What will you bring to the role?
Minimum Cert IV in a related field and/or equivalent experience working in a relevant setting.
A current First Aid Certificate, or willingness to obtain First Aid Certification upon commencement
Demonstrate self-awareness and ability to reflect and handle feedback well and learn from it
Proven ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision and to prioritise multiple tasks to meet conflicting deadlines.
Proven ability to maintain confidentiality and build trust to deal with sensitive and difficult situations in a diplomatic manner
Relevant experience in a similar role or transferable skills
Be a team player - Ability and willingness to work effectively as part of a team, to meet program goals and objectives.
Knowledge of complex mental health and drug and alcohol issues.
Highly developed written and verbal communication skills
