Veterinary Specialist Services is an established Small Animal referral practice in South East Queensland. We have hospitals at Carrara, Jindalee, and Underwood. We are striving to create an environment where people can do their best work. Our teams are very passionate about delivering patient care and support each other to do it. We have a very diverse skill set and can offer just about all specialities, diagnostic modalities, and therapies across our practice group. We have residency training programs for vets, in house training programs for nurses and internships where many of our interns have progressed to become registered Specialists. We are involved in the industry with wide participation in professional groups, universities, continuing education courses and we run our own annual conference.
Job Description
About the Role
As a Rotating Veterinary Nurse, you'll gain exposure to a diverse caseload while rotating through our core clinical services:
Daytime Emergency
– Triaging patients, emergency patient care, stabilisation, monitoring, and client support.
Medicine
– Nursing complex medical cases, advanced diagnostics, wide range of care for inpatient cares across all disciplines within the hospital including recoveries and working closely with our veterinary team to provide exceptional patient care.
Surgery
– Preparing patients for surgery, from starting the journey at the initial admission, all areas of surgery preparation,
and through till the recovery phase. Monitoring anaesthesia, including interpreting patient parameters and troubleshooting complications under the direction of the veterinarian. Cleaning, packing, and sterilising surgical instrument kits to ensure they are maintained to the highest standards.

Desired Skills and Experience
What We're Looking For
Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing or a Veterinary Technician Degree
Minimum 4 years of clinical experience
Commitment to high standards of patient care and clinical excellence
