Experienced Senior Dairy Operator required to join our progressive 900 cow family farm, located at Tatura Vic.
The role will suit person with a passion for cows and focus on cow production and requires proven ability to drive machinery to feed cows.
Dairy is a 60 unit rotary with automation. Farm is irrigated with both flood and pivot irrigation, growing pasture, lucerne, winter cereals and maize. The farm offers a lot of variety of work as we do our own sowing, harvesting, spreading fertiliser etc.
Key responsibilities and duties include:
drive tractors and machinery including silage wagon, telehandler, fertiliser spreader, pasture topper, bale cart
complete repairs and maintenance to machinery and other farm equipment
move stock and assist with animal health and welfare treatments (eg drenching)
assist milkers by moving herd and bringing up sick cows
bring freshly calved cows and calves to shed
check calving cows and assist calving difficulties
drive tractors to complete sowing program, silage and hay harvest




assist farm manager with any general tasks required in the running of a dairy farm
Successful applicant must:
Have a drivers license and own car
Be fit and strong
Previous dairy experience driving machinery and working with livestock.
We offer an attractive salary in line with experience and skills. Full time position, 10 days per fortnight with flexibile roster system.
The role can be developed to suit the person to include other duties and training can be provided to upskill the successful applicant. Sponsorship possible for the right applicant.
Start date versatile in August ****.
Accommodation available on farm with another male as a temporary solution, not suitable for families or couples, long term accommodation can be arranged upon a successful 6 month probation period. Assistance with accommodation in town for the right candidate.
