CNC & Edge Bander Machinist (joinery environment)
Cairns Flat Packs & Kilfoy Cabinets are seeking a CNC & Edge Bander Machinist to join our team in Cairns, QLD - on a full-time basis. This is a fantastic chance to work for a well-established company in the tropical Cairns region. We offer a competitive hourly rate of $32-$40 per hour, negotiable based on experience. We also work 4.5 days per week with the opportunity for overtime.
What you'll be doing
Operate CNC machinery
Operate EDGE BANDER
Troubleshoot any issues with machines and perform routine maintenance
Collaborate with the broader production team to ensure timely delivery of projects
Maintain a safe and organised work environment, adhering to all health and safety protocols
Pack, secure and label items for freight dispatch
What we're looking for
Proven experience as a CNC & Edge Bander Machinist, ideally within a joinery or woodworking setting
A minimum of 3-5 years of CNC & Edge Bander machining experience is required
Robust technical skills and the ability to read and interpret workshop drawings
Proficient in operating a range of joinery workshop machinery, including routers, saws etc...
Attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work
Good problem-solving and analytical skills to troubleshoot and optimise machine performance
A team player with solid communication and interpersonal skills
Either formal trade qualifications in CNC machining/joinery or equivalent relevant experience will be accepted
Forklift Licence is advantageous
