Career Paralegal - Debt Recovery & Litigation
A genuine long-term paralegal opportunity
If you are an experienced paralegal who knows how to progress a debt recovery matter, stay ahead of deadlines and confidently manage files from instruction through to enforcement, this role deserves your attention.
This specialist boutique firm in the CBD has a strong practice across debt recovery, commercial litigation and insolvency.
This is a firm where paralegals do far more than provide administrative support. You will be allocated files alongside a lawyer, take an active role in running those matters and draw on the qualified team when legal input is required.
You will work closely with the Principal and senior team members in a collaborative environment where ideas are shared, questions are encouraged and experienced paralegals are treated as an important part of the firm's success.
The work
You will manage a varied portfolio of debt recovery and litigation matters, including:
Debt recovery claims from initial instruction through to enforcement
Bankruptcy and winding-up proceedings
Statutory demands and associated applications
Caveats, charging clauses and equitable mortgage matters
Pre and post-appointment insolvency work
Court documents, filing, service and procedural requirements
Liaising with corporate clients, solicitors, courts and external parties
Monitoring critical dates and ensuring matters continue moving forward
Working closely with lawyers to determine the next practical step on each file
The firm acts predominantly for corporate clients and enjoys a high level of repeat business,
giving you exposure to established client relationships and consistently interesting work.
About you
This opportunity is specifically designed for an experienced, career paralegal. It is not suitable for current law students or recent law graduates seeking a pathway into practice.
You will have:
Solid experience in debt recovery or litigation
The ability to confidently run debt recovery and enforcement files
Knowledge of Queensland and Federal Court processes
Strong organisational skills and close attention to detail
The confidence to communicate with clients and external parties
A practical, proactive approach to progressing matters
The ability to work independently while remaining part of a close team
A positive attitude and genuine interest in building a long-term paralegal career
The firm
This is a genuinely stable and supportive boutique practice where people are valued and encouraged to build long-term careers.
The firm operates as one unified team rather than through a traditional hierarchy. Lawyers, paralegals and support staff work together, share ideas and regularly discuss the best way to progress matters.
Paralegals are highly respected within the practice and receive genuine investment in their development. You will have direct access to a hands-on Principal and experienced lawyers while still being trusted to take meaningful responsibility for your files.
Quality and collaboration are central to the firm's approach. Everyone contributes, all work is carefully reviewed, and the team supports one another to deliver the best possible outcomes for clients.
A highly competitive salary package will be negotiated based on your experience and knowledge.
