We are seeking an experienced
Data Architect
to join a high-performing Federal Government agency. The successful
Data Architect
will lead the design and development of data architecture foundations for a major digital initiative, supporting improved data exchange, governance, quality and interoperability across a complex multi-agency environment. The successful
Data Architect
will secure an initial 6-month contract with a 6-month extension option, based in Canberra
The
Data Architect
will be responsible for but not limited to:
Designing conceptual and logical data models, schemas and data dictionaries
Translating business and regulatory requirements into structured data architecture artefacts
Mapping data elements, reporting forms, data flows and transformation rules
Supporting reference data, metadata, lineage,



data quality and governance arrangements
Advising on structured data exchange, XML, validation rules and integration patterns
Engaging with technical, business and policy stakeholders to validate and endorse deliverables
The
Data Architect
will have experience in the following:
Demonstrated experience in data modelling and schema design for complex domains
Experience developing data reference models, data sets, mapping specifications and metadata
Strong understanding of data governance, quality management, lineage and traceability
Experience with structured data exchange formats and integration approaches
Solid documentation and stakeholder communication skills
SQL experience is highly regarded, with Python, R, Power BI or Tableau beneficial
