About the Role
As the Senior Lecturer, Health Economics, you will play a key role in delivering and advancing Swinburne's new Health Economics major within the Bachelor of Health Sciences and related programs. The successful candidate is expected to undertake high-quality teaching and research in one or more areas within the Health Economics or related discipline. Working closely with academic leaders and colleagues across the School of Health Sciences, you will lead innovative teaching, curriculum development and research initiatives that prepare students for future-focused careers in the health sector. The role offers the opportunity to shape a growing discipline area, supervise higher degree research students, build industry partnerships and contribute to Swinburne's vision of delivering impactful education, research and engagement.
About You
To be suitable for this role you will need to have experience in the below key accountabilities:
Evidence of established teaching experience at undergraduate or postgraduate levels
Proven experience and ability to manage, deliver and design high-quality curricula that support excellence in teaching and learning
Demonstrated knowledge of the application of economics within the healthcare sector.
Evidence of significant contribution to independent and team-based research in Health Economics or related disciplines
A track record of leading quality research as evidenced by high-quality publications in refereed scientific journals, conference presentations as well as other non-traditional research outcomes.
Demonstrated ability to obtain external research funding through external grants and/or industry collaboration.
Robust interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to liaise with a wide variety of academics, work within a consultative, team environment, including an ability to work effectively with colleagues external to the department and relevant professions in industry and government
Skills such as strategic leadership, resourcefulness, initiative, and the ability to meet tight deadlines.



The candidate should have the ability to work both independently and collaboratively, in a multi-disciplinary environment
Ethical scholar who values diversity and works effectively with individual differences.
An established track record in leading teaching and research within the Health Economics discipline is preferred.
Qualifications
A doctoral qualification in an area of Health Economics, Public Health, or related disciplines. Preference will be given to applicants with expertise in Health Economics.
A teaching qualification (preferable).
