Assistant Category Buyer at THE ICONIC
About the role Join THE ICONIC's Menswear team as an Assistant Category Buyer on a 12-month contract. You will support the Category Buyer in achieving sales growth and managing inventory for your assigned category. This role involves contributing to department strategy and budget planning within a fast-paced e-commerce setting.

What you'll do
Help with category procurement and maintain appropriate stock levels.
Monitor inventory alongside Category and Senior Category Buyers.
Address issues with orders, invoices, or deliveries, both internally and with vendors.
Analyze data and market trends to inform purchasing decisions.
Negotiate contract terms for both commission-based (Platform) and OTB-based (Wholesale) vendors.
Evaluate vendor performance and assist with selection and exit processes.
Identify supply chain challenges through regular quality reviews.
Collaborate with various internal departments to ensure timely deliveries.
Identify opportunities to improve the customers online experience.
Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations.




Manage vendor administration to maintain data accuracy.
Develop relationships with internal stakeholders like Marketing, Vendor Management, Operations, and Finance.
Requirements
Minimum 2 years of experience as an Assistant Buyer in a high-volume business.
Strong communication and negotiation abilities.
Proven analytical and problem-solving skills.
Effective time management and task prioritization in a dynamic setting.
Knowledge of industry regulations and compliance.
Ability to adapt to market changes and learn new skills.
Nice to have
Familiarity with API integrations and platform software.
