About The Role
As Workshop Manager, you will take the lead in running a energetic, fast‐paced fabrication workshop, energising the team, driving performance and championing a strong safety culture every day.
You will oversee planning and scheduling, support our trades team and ensure every project is delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest quality standards.
Reporting to the Manufacturing Manager, you will guide a skilled crew of Boilermaker Welders, Supervisors, Leading Hands, QC and Stores personnel, building capability, strengthening team culture and delivering exceptional operational results together.
In This Role, You Will
Leading safety culture and ensuring compliance with HSE and Safety Management Systems
Planning, scheduling and overseeing workshop jobs to ensure on‐time, on‐budget delivery
Managing supervisors and trades teams to drive productivity and quality outcomes
Allocating resources and managing build lead times




Conducting weekly inspections and safety interactions
Liaising with clients and internal stakeholders
Supporting quoting, scoping and technical feasibility of projects
Driving LEAN principles and continuous improvement initiatives
Partnering with People & Culture to develop team capability and training plans
About You
You will bring a strong background in the manufacturing industry, with proven experience leading a complex workshop environment and managing teams of welders and boilermakers to deliver high‐quality outcomes.
Ideally, You Will Have
Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar workshop or operations leadership role
Strong background in engineering, fabrication or resource industry environments
Welding/ Boilermaker Trade Certificate (essential)
Proven people leadership and stakeholder management skills
Experience with LEAN, 5S or Six Sigma principles
Strong planning, organisational and communication skills
Leadership & Management qualifications (desirable)
Welding or Quality Inspection qualifications (desirable)
