The company provides installation, maintenance, fault diagnosis, repair, testing, configuration and calibration services for a range of electronic systems and equipment, including CCTV and surveillance systems, security and alarm systems, intercom systems, audio and video doorbells, home theatre and audio‐visual systems, television antennas, networking equipment and associated electronic and communication systems.About the PositionThe Electronics Equipment Trades Worker will be responsible for installing, testing, diagnosing, maintaining, repairing, configuring and calibrating a range of electronic equipment and systems.
The position involves workshop‐based and on‐site work, including attendance at residential, commercial and other customer premises throughout Victoria as required.Key Duties and ResponsibilitiesExamining and interpreting technical drawings, plans, circuit diagrams, wiring diagrams, specifications and equipment manualsInstalling, configuring, testing and commissioning CCTV cameras, surveillance systems, digital video recorders, network video recorders and associated electronic equipmentInstalling, testing, maintaining and repairing electronic security and alarm systems, sensors, detectors, control panels and associated equipmentInstalling and configuring intercom systems and audio and video doorbell systemsInstalling, connecting, configuring, testing and troubleshooting home theatre and audio‐visual systemsInstalling, testing and maintaining television antennas, signal distribution systems and associated electronic equipmentInstalling, connecting, terminating,



testing and troubleshooting networking and communication equipmentTesting electronic equipment and systems to locate faults and identify defective componentsUsing electronic testing and diagnostic equipment to diagnose operational faultsDismantling electronic equipment and assemblies for inspection, servicing and repairRepairing or replacing defective electronic components, assemblies, wiring and associated partsRe‐assembling, testing and adjusting repaired equipment to ensure proper operationProgramming and configuring electronic security, communication, surveillance and related systemsCarrying out system calibration, adjustment, performance testing and operational checksPerforming preventative maintenance and scheduled servicing of electronic equipment and systemsDiagnosing connectivity, signal, communication and network‐related faults associated with electronic systemsTesting electrical and electronic connections and ensuring systems operate according to technical specificationsUndertaking equipment upgrades, component replacements and system modifications where requiredMaintaining accurate records of installations, testing, maintenance, fault diagnosis and repair workExplaining system operation and basic equipment maintenance requirements to customersEnsuring all work is performed in accordance with manufacturer specifications,



applicable safety requirements and company proceduresMaintaining tools, testing instruments and equipment in valuable working conditionAttending customer premises and project sites as required to perform installation, maintenance, testing and repair workQualifications and ExperienceCert IV or higher qualification in Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Electronic Equipment Servicing or a closely related fieldRelevant practical experience in the installation, testing, diagnosis, maintenance, calibration and repair of electronic equipment and systemsExperience in electronic fault diagnosis and component‐level or equipment‐level repairAbility to read and interpret technical drawings, circuit diagrams, wiring diagrams and manufacturer specificationsExperience using electronic testing, measuring and diagnostic equipmentSound understanding of electronic components, circuits and integrated electronic systemsExperience with CCTV, electronic security systems, alarm systems, intercom systems, audio‐visual equipment, communication systems or networking equipmentStrong technical fault‐finding and problem‐solving skillsGood communication and customer service skillsAbility to work independently and as part of a teamStrong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanshipAbility to travel to customer and project sites as requiredA valid Australian driver's licence is desirableEmployment ConditionsThis is a full‐time permanent position.
Annual salary: $80,000 plus superannuation.
The position is based in VIC ****, with travel to customer premises and project sites throughout Victoria as required.
