Data Analyst - Advanced Excel – initial 3 Month Contract (View to Permanent)Sydney | Financial Markets | Contract OpportunityA leading global financial services organisation is seeking an experienced Data and Compliance Analyst to join their Sydney team on an initial 3 month contract, with strong potential to convert to permanent.This is an excellent opportunity for a data and compliance professional with financial markets experience to join a highly regulated trading environment and work closely with key stakeholders across compliance, risk, legal, and front office teams.About the roleThis is a hands-on second line Data and compliance role focused on regulatory oversight, market surveillance, control testing, and compliance advisory across a financial markets business.You will be responsible for ensuring the organisation operates in accordance with ASIC, ASX, AUSTRAC, and internal regulatory obligations, while supporting ongoing monitoring across trading and clearing activities.Key Responsibilities-Provide compliance advice to business stakeholders on regulatory and risk mattersInterpret regulatory changes and assess impact on products, services, and clientsMonitor trading activity across equities and futures markets for suspicious patternsConduct compliance control testing and surveillance reviewsPrepare regulatory reports and lodgements to ASIC,



ASX, and AUSTRACInvestigate potential breaches, suspicious matters, and elevate where requiredMaintain compliance registers, policies, and proceduresSupport AML/CTF risk assessments for client onboarding and ongoing reviews Deliver compliance training and awareness support to internal teamsAbout YouTo be successful in this role, you will ideally bring:min 2-3 years' Data Analysis/ compliance experience ideally within financial markets, trading, brokerage, banking, exchanges, or regulated financial servicesStrong understanding of market integrity obligations in trading environmentsAbility to identify anomalies, suspicious trading patterns, and compliance risksExcellent stakeholder engagement and communication skillsStrong Excel and data analysis capabilityHighly RegardedExposure to equities, derivatives, futures, or clearing environmentsWhy Apply?
