Australian Rail Technology (ART) is a leading independent rail component remediation specialist, with a wealth of experience in mainline, high speed, freight, metro and light rail component remediation services. Our high-performance re-engineering process both restores original components and improves specification/longevity, thereby increasing asset life.
Our Port Adelaide site is seeking a trade qualified Refrigeration Technician/Supervisor to join our growing global team, as we take on new projects and expand our services.
This position will involve:
Working on the maintenance of rail air-conditioning units (HVAC)
Dismantling HVAC units (including degas) and cleaning components
Copper brazing including compressor installation and the installation of other main components
Clean, pressure test and recharge the refrigeration system
Testing of HVAC units (Incoming and Outgoing)
Maintain refrigerant handling reports for ARC
Ensuring parts are on-hand and ordered for all work
Manual Handling – using hand tools, hoists and trolleys
Assembling units
Participating in pre-work briefings and proactively making suggestions for improvement
To be considered for the role,



you will hold the following skills and experience:
Certificate III in Air Conditioning & Refrigeration
Rail Air-conditioning experience and knowledge would be an advantage
A current Refrigerant Handling Licence or willing to obtain
Ability to lead a small team
Have a keen eye for detail
Ability to recognise and solve service/maintenance problems
The experience to complete assigned tasks on time and to a high quality
Current Electrical B Class Licence or higher
Our workshops must deliver repaired and overhauled train HVAC units to clients on time with rapid turnaround, whilst maintaining impeccable product quality.
