The Role
We're looking for a motivated and safety-focused Water Services Operator to join our Operations team on a permanent full-time basis at Forth.
As a Water Services Operator, you will play a vital role in treating drinking water, this includes delivering safe drinking water and services to the communities of the Central NW Coast of Tasmania.
This is a hands‐on role that combines operational, maintenance and customer‐focused activities across water infrastructure.
You'll work both independently and as part of a team to ensure essential services continue to operate safely, efficiently and in line with regulatory requirements.
In this role, you will:
Operate and maintain water infrastructure to meet customer and regulatory requirements.
Conduct water sampling, testing and treatment activities.
Undertake maintenance and repair work on water treatment assets and equipment.
Use hand tools, specialised machinery and technology to support operational activities.
Complete operational records, inspections, risk assessments and reports.
Assess asset condition and provide feedback to support ongoing maintenance and performance.
Respond to customer enquiries and work collaboratively with contractors and stakeholders.




Participate in an on-call roster and emergency response activities as required.
What we're looking for
We're seeking someone who enjoys practical, field-based work and takes pride in delivering quality outcomes safely and efficiently.
You'll be a team player with strong communication skills and a commitment to customer service.
To thrive in this role, you'll bring:
Certificate III in Water Operations or equivalent experience.
Knowledge of the water industry or transferable skills from a similar operational environment.
Demonstrated computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
A commitment to workplace health and safety.
White Card (Work Safely in the Construction Industry).
Current manual driver's licence.
Highly regarded:
Certificate IV level industry training or qualifications.
Confined space, working at heights, breathing apparatus or machinery operating tickets.

The Details
This role is based at Forth, Devonport, and attracts a salary range of $85,****** - $******** (inclusive of superannuation).
Please note this role involves working outdoors in varying weather conditions, undertaking physically demanding work, and participating in an on‐call roster as required.
