About the Position

Caseload midwifery is a model of care where women receive pregnancy, labour, birth and postnatal care from a primary midwife (with one or two backup midwives).
This position has been developed to enable an entry‐level First Nations Administrative Assistant to gain experience in project administration and operational support.
The overall purpose is to receive administrative training in a supported research environment, contribute to the project aims, and support the cultural competency component of the project.
The First Nations Administrative Assistant will join a dedicated team of Indigenous and non‐Indigenous researchers working on improving maternity care provision, health outcomes and care experiences for women having a First Nations baby.
The position will be based within the Judith Lumley Centre (for women, children and family health research) in the School of Nursing and Midwifery at La Trobe's Bundoora campus.
