About the role
The Estimator is responsible for accurately calculating the costs associated with commercial and residential furniture assembly & installation projects.
This role ensures all quotes and tenders are competitive, profitable, and delivered within required timeframes.
The Estimator plays a critical role in securing new business and maintaining strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.
Duties and Responsibilities
Prepare accurate and timely cost estimates for furniture assembly and installation projects.
Review architectural plans, floor plans, and project specifications to determine the scope of work.
Calculate labor, material, equipment, and transport requirements for each project.
Generate formal quotes and proposals for client review.
Conduct on-site inspections to assess site conditions and access requirements.
Perform accurate site measurements to verify project scope against provided plans.
Identify potential installation risks or site‐specific challenges prior to project commencement.
Source and evaluate quotes from external suppliers and subcontractors.
Negotiate pricing and terms to ensure cost-effectiveness and profitability.
Build and maintain strong professional relationships with key supply chain partners.
Analyze historical project costs to improve the accuracy of future estimates.
Monitor ongoing project costs against initial estimates to identify variances.
Provide regular reports on estimating performance and win/loss ratios to management.
Prepare and submit comprehensive tender documents for large‐scale commercial projects.
Ensure all tender submissions comply with client requirements and strict deadlines.
Collaborate with the operations team to develop accurate project timelines and delivery schedules.
Essential Skills
Strong numerical ability and financial acumen.
High level of accuracy in calculations and document preparation.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills for client and stakeholder engagement.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet strict deadlines.
Robust ability to negotiate favorable terms with suppliers and subcontractors.

Qualifications needed:
Minimum Diploma level or equivalent relevant work experience
Minimum one year of work experience on relevant position
