As Spark continues to grow, we are looking for an energetic and curious Junior UX/UI Designer to join our team.About the RoleThis is a full-time role based in our Richmond office with the flexibility to work from home up to two days per week.You will primarily work on Spark Relief Teachers while also contributing to other Kepple products and projects when required.
Working closely with our Product Design Manager, you will help design and improve digital experiences across mobile and web.This role is suited to an emerging designer with some practical or professional experience who wants to develop strong product design skills.
You will be supported through regular feedback and collaboration while taking ownership of defined design work.You do not need to know everything from day one.
However, you should be curious, proactive and comfortable asking questions, exploring unfamiliar problems and working independently when required.What You'll DoDesign current features and improvements across Spark Relief Teachers and other Kepple productsCreate user flows, wireframes, interface designs and interactive prototypes in FigmaTurn early concepts and product discussions into clear design optionsExplore user problems, identify constraints and explain the reasoning behind your decisionsIncorporate feedback from customers, stakeholders and the wider teamHelp organise and synthesise customer feedback into practical product improvementsImprove usability, accessibility and visual consistency across our productsHelp maintain and evolve our component libraries and design system foundationsPrepare clear design files and handover information for developersReview implemented designs and work with developers to improve the final experienceContribute ideas and perspectives during product and design discussionsAbout YouWe are open to candidates at the beginning of their product design career.
You may have professional experience or demonstrate your capability through a strong portfolio and practical project work.You will ideally bring:A portfolio that demonstrates your process and thinking, not only final designsConfidence using Figma for wireframing, interface design, prototyping and file organisationAn understanding of UX fundamentals, common interaction patterns and responsive designStrong attention to detail and genuine care for the quality of your workCuriosity about users, products and the impact of design decisionsThe ability to manage your time and work independently on defined tasksConfidence asking questions, seeking context and responding constructively to feedbackStrong communication and collaboration skillsA willingness to experiment, learn and continuously improveNice to HaveExperience in any of the following would be valuable but is not essential:Designing digital products, SaaS tools or service-based platformsWorking with developers as part of a product teamAccessibility and inclusive designDesign systems, component libraries or design documentationUser feedback, usability testing or lightweight researchDesigning for both mobile and web platformsWhy Join Us?
