Job Title:ArboristLocation:Local CouncilEmployment Type:Casual (38hrs a week, with potential for full-time permanent positions)About the Role:We are seeking a motivated and safety-focused Assistant Arborist to join our Tree Maintenance team.
In this hands-on role, you will assist with the maintenance and improvement of street and park trees, helping to enhance the municipality's urban landscape.
Working as part of a cooperative team, you will operate a range of plant and equipment, deliver quality customer service, and ensure all work is completed safely and to a high standard.Key responsibilities:Assist with the maintenance, pruning and care of street and park trees.Plant, transplant and maintain trees and shrubs, including site preparation.Safely operate and maintain a range of plant, vehicles and arboricultural equipment, including chainsaws and elevated work platforms.Complete customer requests and maintenance activities in accordance with work schedules and service standards.Conduct daily plant and equipment inspections and report defects as required.Perform routine maintenance of vehicles, tools and equipment.Contribute to work planning,



reporting and the maintenance of operational records.Assist with estimating and ordering trees, plants and related materials.Deliver professional and responsive customer service to residents and other stakeholders.Work in accordance with workplace health and safety policies, procedures and industry standards.Key requirements:Current Victorian Driver Licence.Experience operating plant and equipment in an arboricultural, horticultural or similar environment.Level 1 Chainsaw Certificate.Certificate in Tree Clearing by Non-Electrical Personnel.Ability to perform physically demanding outdoor work in varying weather conditions.Demonstrated knowledge of safe manual handling practices and equipment operation.Strong commitment to workplace health and safety.Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.Good communication and customer service skills.Heavy Articulated Driver Licence is desirable.Pre Employment Checks:Working With Children Checkto be obtained prior to commencementPolice Checkto be obtained prior to commencement
