HVAC Technician Downer Adelaide, South Australia, Australia
This is a permanent full-time opportunity working within one of South Australia's largest and most technically advanced healthcare facilities.
You'll be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting and optimising critical HVAC and mechanical systems that support patient care and hospital operations 24 hours a day.
Working alongside a highly skilled maintenance team, you'll gain exposure to complex central plant equipment, chilled water systems, air handling units, building management systems (BMS), and specialised healthcare infrastructure.

What You'll Do
Repairs and maintenance of centralised plant and HVAC systemsDiagnosing mechanical and electrical faultsPerforming scheduled servicing, performance testing and system adjustmentsCleaning, calibrating and maintaining systems in accordance with manufacturer requirements and compliance standardsManaging and scheduling your work effectivelySupporting service improvement, quality control and risk mitigation initiativesWorking collaboratively with clinical staff, internal technicians and contractorsMaintaining accurate service records,



reports and documentationParticipating in Downer's Zero Harm safety culture and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement
What you'll Bring:
HVAC trade certificationSouth Australian Restricted Electrical LicenceWhite Card (WHS General Induction)Valid, unrestricted driver's licenceSolid experience in HVAC installation, servicing and repairStrong fault-finding and diagnostic skillsKnowledge of building codes and regulatory standardsSafe work practices, including working at heights and with EWPA team mindset with good communication and customer service skillsA reliable, organised approach and a commitment to excellence
Royal Adelaide Hospital operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
As part of our maintenance team, HVAC Technicians participate in a rotational roster that supports critical hospital operations.
The roster includes day, afternoon and night shift coverage, with extended periods of standard day shift work between rostered rotation cycles.
