The Role:
We are currently looking for a trade qualified BUTCHERY MANAGER to own the Butchery Department operations within our IGA Mt Cotton.

Managing the team and operations of the butchery, including rostering
Liaising and negotiating with suppliers to maintain a high quality product and achieve margin KPI's
Manage and report on inventory, sales, merchandising and shrinkage
Preparation of products, including cutting, trimming, and slicing
Preparation of value-added, and marinated products
Preparation of gourmet, and game meat
Operation of machinery and equipment, including mincer, grinder, and band saw, etc.
Packing, wrapping, and labeling products (as required)
Attending to the Meat Cabinet, including displaying products, and maintaining presentation
Providing exemplary customer service, including responding to enquiries and requests




Compliance with all relevant legislation, including Food Safety, Trade Measurement, and Occupational Health & Safety, etc.
Uphold and maintain all Policies & Procedures, including uniform standards
Any other tasks as required by the specialist team and the Store Manager
What you'll need to succeed:
Experience in leading, training and motivating a team of butchers
Experience with gourmet production skills and sausage making
Proficient in Merchandising
Previous supermarket or retail experience an advantageous
Highly organised and efficient with good work ethic
Ability to work in a fast paced team environment achieving KPI's
Experience with retail ready products wholesaling would be advantageous
Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
Ability to adhere to all Policies & Procedures
