Production Manager/ Quality Control -Heavy EngineeringLead, mentor and supervise a production team of approximately 25 employees.Create a positive, accountable and safety-focused workplace culture.Allocate daily workloads to maximize productivity.Monitor workflow throughout the day to ensure production targets are achieved.Identify production bottlenecks and implement practical solutions.Ensure labor resources are effectively utilized.Quality ControlEnsure every product is manufactured in accordance with engineering drawings and company quality standards.Inspect work throughout the manufacturing process rather than only at completion.Maintain high welding standards and fabrication quality.Ensure fabrication accuracy, fitment and finish meet company expectations.Identify quality issues early and implement corrective actions.Reduce rework through effective quality management.Production PlanningPrioritize urgent customer orders in consultation with the Sales Team.Ensure customized jobs are correctly communicated to production staff.Monitor work progress and adjust priorities where required.Ensure products are completed in time for scheduled fitting appointments.Cross Department CommunicationWork closely with multiple departments to ensure smooth production flow.This includes liaising with:Prioritize urgent customer orders.Understand customized product requirements.Provide production updates where required.Ensure completed products are ready for scheduled vehicle fitments.Resolve production delays before they impact installation schedules.Drafting DepartmentRecommend drawing improvements.Assist in resolving manufacturing issues caused by incorrect or outdated drawings.Purchasing OfficerAdvise when materials require replenishment.Recommend replacement or purchase of production equipment.Assist with forecasting production material requirements.Productivity & Continuous ImprovementDrive continuous improvement initiatives throughout the workshop.Reduce waste of steel, aluminum and consumable materials.Ensure equipment is used correctly and maintained appropriately.Improve production efficiency while maintaining quality.Monitor production KPIs and recommend improvements.Identify opportunities to improve manufacturing processes.Equipment & Workshop ManagementEnsure machinery and equipment are operated correctly.Monitor equipment condition and report maintenance requirements.Promote good housekeeping throughout the workshop.Ensure workstations remain clean, organized and safe.SafetyEnsure compliance with all Workplace Health & Safety policies.Conduct toolbox meetings where required.Ensure all employees wear appropriate PPE.Investigate incidents and implement preventative actions.Skills & ExperienceThe ideal candidate will have:Previous experience managing a fabrication or manufacturing workshop.Strong leadership and people management skills.Ability to motivate and develop production teams.Excellent knowledge of fabrication and welding processes.Strong understanding of quality assurance and quality control.Experience with production scheduling.Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.A commitment to workplace safety.We will assist $**** toward relocating from another city to ToowoombaKey Performance Indicators (KPIs)The Production Manager will be measured on:Daily production targets achieved.Product quality and reduction in rework.On-time completion of customer orders.Workshop productivity.Material wastage reduction.Welding quality standards.Safety performance.Team engagement and attendance.Continuous improvement initiatives implemented.Why Join Us?
