As we continue to grow, we are seeking an experienced Product Category Manager (Suspension) to join our Head Office team (location: 104 Fox Drive, Dandenong South, VIC ****).
About the Role:
As a Product Category Manager (Suspension) at HAMER 4X4, you will be responsible for developing and managing the suspension product line.
Your focus will be the:
Establishment of a comprehensive and complete suspension product range
Market positioning of the new product range
Suspension technicality and determine the appropriate specifications
Price List
Training Program for staff and dealers
Point of Sales Program
You will be the one responsible on establishing the appropriate product range, and for training the Sales team and dealers with the product features, pricing and overall promotion of a product category to maximise consumer appeal.
Relationships with vendors and product range management will also be part of your duties.
What you will be doing:
Oversee the entire journey of suspension parts, from initial market research and ideation through development, to launch and eventual phase-out
Introduce a current range of suspension to the market,



starting from our own HAMER stores and expanding further to selected key dealers
Develop and deliver category strategies that drive growth and profitability
Test samples to meet individual vehicle requirement
Negotiate pricing, manage lead times, and source high-quality materials or finished suspension kits from global or local suppliers
Set pricing strategies and monitor category Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) like Gross Margin, Average Selling Price (ASP), and conversion rates
Establish the HAMER suspensions range and work closely with the factory and suppliers overseas
Track consumer preferences, evaluating competitor product lines (e.g., coil-overs, leaf springs), and identifying gaps in the market
Build marketing materials and prepare soft launch of the products in the different stages
Collaborate with marketing teams to launch promotional campaigns, prepare product catalogues, and train sales staff on technical suspension features
Manage growth of existing HAMER dealers with suspension products in Australia
Participate to all major events and trade shows in Australia
About You:
BS/MS Degree in Business or relevant degree
Proven experience as category manager or similar role




Solid knowledge of category management, marketing and sales principles
A deep understanding of automotive mechanics, particularly 4WD and passenger vehicle suspension systems, off-road accessories, and vehicle compliance
Strong negotiation skills, financial literacy, and the ability to read and act on market data and profitability metrics
Able to align diverse teams including engineering, logistics, and digital marketing around a unified product strategy
Understanding of data analysis and forecasting methods
Proficient in MS Office
Motivated and driven to achieve results with culture of accountability
Excellent customer service skills and solution driven
High work ethic
Strong community relations and industry contacts
Excellent mentoring, coaching and people management skills
Capacity to develop and maintain varied operational plans
Exceptional analytical skills to evaluate sales opportunities that drive growth
Demonstrated ability to communicate, present and influence credibly and effectively at all levels of the organisation
Must hold current driver's licence
Remuneration:
This is subject to your skills, qualifications and experience, but it will be within a salary range of between $110,000 – $120,000 per annum + superannuation.
